Pupil Leadership

At Pencoys, we believe that every child’s voice matters and that their thoughts and ideas can shape the future of our school. We actively encourage pupils to share their views on learning, well-being, and school life, and we listen with the intention to act. Across the school, children take on a variety of leadership roles—from School Council and Eco-Council to Sport Leaders and Librarians—giving them real opportunities to influence decisions and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment. These roles foster responsibility, build confidence, and help create a school community where everyone feels heard, respected, and empowered to make a difference

Librarians

Librarians at Pencoys School play a vital role in nurturing a love of reading and supporting learning across all year groups. Beyond managing resources, they help  promote , and create a welcoming, well organised  space. Librarians also feedback  to  teachers with ideas to enrich classroom topics.

Sports Leaders

Sport Leaders at Pencoys School play a key role in promoting physical activity, teamwork, and leadership among pupils. These students help organise games, support younger children during playtimes, and assist with school sports events. By encouraging participation and fair play, they help foster a positive and inclusive sporting culture. Their leadership builds confidence, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility. Sport Leaders also act as role models, inspiring others to stay active and engaged. Their contribution is vital in creating a vibrant, healthy school environment where physical education is celebrated and every child feels motivated to take part.
