Friends of Pencoys (PTA)

As a parent of a child at Pencoys you are automatically a member of the PTA.  The PTA is more than simply fundraising. We encourage all parents and carers to get involved in any way they can so that we can continue to support each other; raise funds to enhance and enrich the provision and learning experience  for the children, run events and activities that make the school experience fun and memorable, and  maintain the strong community that makes Pencoys so special.

Any money raised throughout the year supports, school trips, equipment, building improvements and events for the children such as the Summer and Christmas Fair and Year 6 leavers celebrations. We will also let you know specific fundraising goals.

Volunteers

Active volunteers will be asked for a DBS and to complete an induction on the school’s main safeguarding policies and procedures.  This ensures that everyone working closely with our children has the necessary checks and  training.  Parents that have completed these checks are added to a Friends of Pencoys Class Dojo post where communication regarding upcoming meetings, events and requests for help are posted.

Community Gardening

Pencoys location and curriculum is centred around environments and we are very proud of our outdoor provision. As a result of community projects we have secured a sensory garden, a pond, improved our Woodland way, developed a very ‘fruitful’ vegetable garden and polytunnel and run an active gardening club.

These have been headed up by a passionate group of parents that organise regular community mornings to ensure the development and maintenance of the school grounds.
